New Siren Suicides cover reveal!
It's here! It's here! I know you've been waiting for it. I've been waiting for it, too. There is, however, more waiting involved before the second edition of Siren Suicides gets published. The prepping of the cover for publication is something that requires time, and I'm waiting for Anna to finalize it. I'm also waiting for Sarah to send me yet another version of the manuscript with her comments on top of my comments on top of her comments. Just so we have the final one. Once that is done, I will send off both the manuscript and the cover to Stuart for formatting and then I will be waiting for Stuart to make it happen.
ANNA AND SARAH AND STUART ARE SQUEEZING THIS WORK INTO BUSY SCHEDULES.
Anna has school and a couple jobs plus there is Christmas to celebrate and traveling and all that, so the fact that she is able to work on the cover at all is a miracle. Sarah also has school and another job and is miraculously making time for editing somehow in between. Stuart has paying clients and yet always manages to do work for me and do an amazing job at that.
I can't wait to make enough money to be able to pay my team. You guys are awesome. Thank you. We shall yet be all filthy rich, we totally will. I'm working on it (and as part of it, I won't be taking such a long break between drafts ever again, it's torture, plus I can't afford not to write for so long).
In the meantime, I read like crazy to prep for Janna. I will try sandwiching drafts, something I haven't done before and am scared to do it BUT I MUST. So, after Draft 3 of TUBE will be completed (sometime in March, I hope), I will take maybe a few days or a week off to decompress and then start on Janna, Draft 1. When that is done, I'll take a week off and start TUBE, Draft 4 (if it needs another draft), and so on. We shall see how that works out, but that way I'll be able to write more and not have to deal with long breaks.
As to the new cover...we tried preserving the color scheme and the mood of the original books and the Seattle weather, hence the muted blues and the diffused greys and the simple geometrical patterns that could be fish scales, or water, or droplets of falling rain. Hope you like it!
AND YOU CAN PRE-ORDER SIREN SUICIDES NOW! WOOHOO!
This is my gift to you. Happy Holidays.
